Abstract
En un contexto de expansión territorial del capital, el artículo aborda el tema de la persistencia de productorescampesinos en el norte de la Patagonia mediante el desarrollo de estrategias adaptativas diversascomo una forma de resistencia a la expulsión. Se indagan los cambios producidos no sólo en lasunidades domésticas, sino también en los espacios de vida y de trabajo de esos productores que se autodenominancrianceros en dos regiones de ganadería extensiva orientada a la exportación de lana y pelo, mohair.
Los casos muestran que la expansión territorial del capital comporta dinámicas sociales quevan más allá de transformaciones productivas e institucionales, hay movilidades espaciales productivasy laborales más complejas y se generan además cambios en otros niveles de ruralidad, en el hábitatrural, en la actividad de los pueblos. Estos escenarios sociales conducen a repensar el territorio y a entenderlas transformaciones y adaptaciones, los cambios y persistencias desde y entre las posiciones delos actores que contribuyen a conservar o a transformar la estructura del espacio social.
