Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Ingeniería y Universidad - Engineering for development publishes works focusing on sustainable human development. Target manuscripts consider Humans as final recipients of engineering research activity. This activity comes from any engineering field to provide useful solutions for the improvement of quality of life by reducing risks, using new sustainable materials, better using natural resources, satisfying energy and food demands, increasing industry competitiveness and designing new safe jobs for human beings. Contributions with global relevance with potential of local application considering social, ethical, cultural, economic, environmental aspects are especially welcomed.

All contributions will be subjected to peer-review process. The names of both authors and reviewers will not be known to either party. The assigned reviewers will utter their concept pronounce their concept as to the quality of the papers, both in their scientific content and their content, following the guidelines and criteria established by de Journal’s Editorial Board. Evaluation results will be announced in the following terms: To be published, pending some observations, and rejected. An article with a pending concept can be submitted again by the authors to be subjected to new peer review process. The Journal’s Editorial Board may also contribute suggestions in order to improve the manuscript and will ultimately decide whether the contribution is worth publishing in Ingeniería y Universidad.

The publication of an article does not imply that the Editor, the Journal’s Editorial Board or the Faculty of Engineering agree with its content. Responsibility for the work’s content falls entirely and exclusively on the authors. All papers must be original and unpublished. The author or authors must warrant the unpublished nature of their work and that they have obtained the relevant permit from whomever incumbent to use any material which does not belong to them. The Journal’s Editorial Board reserves the right to accept and publish work already published. In the last case, the author or authors must acknowledge this fact and thus include the respective bibliographic reference.

Publication Frequency

This is a bianual publication. We have an open politic on accepting contributions all year long, and we are working witha a seven month period to give authors an answer (depending on the subject and on reviewers availability)

 

Open Access Policy

This journal is open access under the believe that making investigation's information available to the general public for free helps to get a greater global knowledge interchange. 

Because of this, authors explicitly authorize the journal to publish them with a non comercial purpose, at the moment they send their articles for review.

This journal does not impose article processing, publishing charges or embargo periods. All contents are available full-text without restriction.

Esta revista provee acceso libre inmediato a su contenido bajo el principio de que hacer disponible gratuitamente investigación al publico apoya a un mayor intercambio de conocimiento global.

Para ello los autores autorizan expresamente a la revista al momento de enviar los artículos para hacer uso no comercial de ellos.

En su repositorio de información la revista publica en texto completo los artículos publicados a partir del volumen 9, número 2.

Esta revista científica no exige pagos por procesamiento de artículos o por la publicación, ni establece periodos de embargo a sus autores. Los contenidos están disponibles a texto completo y sin restricciones. 

 

Archiving

LOCKSS publisher manifest

This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed among participatinglibraries, allowing these libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
