Resumen
El apego al lugar de trabajo es el lazo afectivo resultante de la interacción entre una persona y su ambiente de trabajo. El objetivo de la presente investigación es estudiar la influencia que el locus de control tiene sobre ese apego y examinar lo que sucede en esa relación cuando se utiliza el deseo de control como variable moderadora. Mediante un diseño experimental, mensajes entregados intencionalmente a los grupos participantes de dos organizaciones colombianas de diferentes sectores económicos, se comparan los tipos de locus de control, organizativo y personal. En el primero, la organización ejerce el poder; en el segundo, los empleados tienen mayor autonomía sobre sus acciones. Los resultados revelan que un locus de control personal tiene un efecto positivo en el apego al lugar de trabajo cuando los empleados tienen en su perfil de personalidad un alto deseo de control. La investigación contribuye a la literatura organizacional al mostrar que los mensajes de control formulados por las organizaciones no operan de manera uniforme sobre el apego al lugar de trabajo; su efecto depende de rasgos disposicionales de los individuos. El estudio aporta evidencia empírica sobre el papel moderador del deseo de control y amplía la comprensión de cómo las prácticas comunicativas de control pueden fortalecer o debilitar el vínculo afectivo de los trabajadores con su entorno laboral.
