HEADING GUIDELINES

Article Title, Maximum 15 words. Times New Roman 12 points (bold, centered, lower case)

RESUMEN (in Spanish)

The article will include a summary with a maximum length of half a page of the content described, with a maximum of 150 words in 10-point Times New Roman font, written in the third person and in the present tense. The abstract should be concise and synthesize the project and findings in an analytical style. The abstract should clearly inform about the objective, the methodology and the results of the work. In case the abstract does not comply with these guidelines, the postulated article will be declared as not received.

PALABRAS CLAVE: Maximum 6, in Spanish, arranged alphabetically, and where possible they correspond to descriptors or thesauri, such as those of UNESCO (http://databases.unesco.org/thessp) or another that it considers relevant to this area of ​​knowledge.

 

ABSTRACT

The Abstract is the literal English translation of the resumen in Times New Roman 10 point italics.

INTRODUCTION GUIDELINES

The articles will have the following format: margins: 2 cm on each side. Body of the text with 12 point Times New Roman font, leaving a blank line between paragraphs. Double spacing and full justification. An article to be publishable will have a maximum of 8,000 words (including abstract, notes, title of graphics, maps and tables, and bibliographic references). All pages must be numbered, including the bibliography. The pages will not have any letterhead with the name of the article, the author or the institution to which he/she/they belongs.

The general body of the article must clearly identify its constituent parts: introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results, conclusions and bibliography. These should be numbered with Arabic numerals and 12 point Times New Roman font in bold.

The introduction may contain:

›› A paragraph that describes the justification and / or background of the problem or theme.

›› A paragraph that describes the hypothesis or description of the problem or theme.

›› A paragraph that describes the thesis in which the method followed to obtain the solution of the problem or treatment or organization of the subject is indicated, which will be coherent with the content.

The journal will only receive research articles, defined within the types accepted by the Colombian Ministry of Science, indexed journals as follows: Scientific and technological research article: Document that presents, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The structure generally used contains four important parts: introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results and conclusions.

 

CONTENT GUIDELINES

The articles presented in the journal Cuadernos de Vivienda y Urbanismo must be specialized in the area of ​​housing and urban planning; and they must present completed or ongoing research papers. The maximum number of articles by the same author in a journal will be one per volume. Articles should be written in a clear, simple and well-structured manner. It is also recommended to check spelling and punctuation carefully and avoid typos.

 

GUIDELINES FOR BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES

These will be guided by the standard of the American Psychological Association (APA, version 6). In the body of the text, bibliographic references will be indicated in parentheses, writing the author's last name, the year and the page number written in parentheses (Christoff, 1996, p. 21). The complete reference must appear in the bibliography. The footnotes will be for clarification only and not for bibliography. The article must register at least 25 bibliographic references.

GUIDELINES FOR PICTURES, GRAPHS AND TABLES

Tables, graphs or images must be sent in separate files, in their original format, named with the letters FIG (if they are images or graphs), or with the letters TAB (if they are tables or tables). All files must have the same number with which they are referenced in the document. These files will be included only if the author makes explicit references to them in the text.

All images, tables and graphs must be referenced in an additional document, in Word format. This document should indicate the source of information and / or the type of elaboration that the author has carried out. Likewise, they must have arabic numerals that identify them, to which reference will be made in the text. Likewise, in the document each image, table and graph will have a title that identifies them. For example:

All images, photographs, plans, renders, maps, graphics or photomontages must be submitted only in JPG or TIFF format. These can be delivered in black and white or in color and their resolution will be between 200 to 300 dpi. If the size of the image does not allow its correct visualization, the committee will contact the author for correction. Plans and maps must be accompanied by a graphic scale. Tables or charts must be delivered in Excel.

 

GUIDELINES FOR CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The conclusions are mandatory and must be clear. They should express the final balance of the investigation or the application of knowledge.

Articles that meet the thematic and formal requirements indicated in these instructions will be declared "received" and submitted to the referees for their evaluation. Articles that do not conform to these rules will be returned to their authors and will be declared "not received".

 

REVIEW PROCESS

Cuadernos de Vivienda y Urbanismo is a peer-reviewed journal. For publication, all articles will be submitted to anonymous peer review. The concept of said evaluators will be communicated to the author (s), who must attend to their observations.

The subject of the article must be framed in housing and urban planning issues or in relevant contributions to them elaborated from other disciplines.

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY:

For Cuadernos de Vivienda y Urbanismo, the submission of an article indicates that the author (s) certify  and accept: (1) that it has not been published, nor accepted for publication in another journal; (2) that the publication of a previous version as a working paper or on a website has not been conducted, and that if its publication in Cuadernos de Vivienda y Urbanismo is accepted, it will be removed from the website and there will only leave the title, the abstract, the keywords and the hyperlink to the journal.

By submitting the articles for evaluation, the author (s) also agree that they will transfer the copyright to the journal Cuadernos de Vivienda y Urbanismo, for publication in printed or electronic version.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be available for any other purpose or another person.
