Resumen

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la asociación entre el uso de plaguicidas y malformaciones congénitas en municipios brasileños con exposición por mayor producción de commodities agrícolas entre 1994 y 2014, así como evaluar la correlación entre la tendencia observada y el volumen de plaguicidas dados como disruptores endocrinos. Es un estudio transversal, de carácter exploratorio, descriptivo y cuantitativo. Se analizaron las informaciones de los nacidos vivos (SINASC/Ministerio de Salud), elaborándose tasas de malformaciones ocurridas de 1994-2003 y 2004-2014. La asociación entre los tipos de malformaciones y las variables fue probada por odds ratio. Se constató que las tasas referentes a las malformaciones congénitas fueron mayores para los años de mayor exposición (2004-2014) y tuvieron asociación estadísticamente significativa. Los resultados indicaron que las malformaciones congénitas identificadas en el sitio de estudio están fuertemente correlacionadas a exposición de plaguicidas.
