Resumen

Este estudio pretende explorar, a partir de una serie de entrevistas en profundidad, las percepciones y actitudes de los inmigrantes latinos que viven en los Estados Unidos acerca del significado y usos de los componentes temáticos y audiovisuales que se muestran en las telenovelas latinas emitidas en dicho país. Los resultados indican en general una valoración positiva del uso de estos elementos, pero matizada por componentes socioculturales como el país de procedencia, el grado de nostalgia o su nivel de acoplamiento a la cultura americana. Se sugieren propuestas para mejorar los contenidos atendiendo a estas consideraciones y en especial centrándolas en las expectativas de segundas y terceras generaciones de emigrados.
