Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the organization and functioning of the jurisdiction for suits under administrative law in Venezuela, which is exercised by courts and by the Supreme Court of Justice in its Political-Administrative and Electoral Rooms, as stated in the Constitution. It then goes trough the main topics concerning jurisdiction, the bodies exercising it and their competences.

Finally, various administrative suits are analyzed, such as the annulment of administrative acts, actions against public entities, administrative contracts, controversies about public utilities, interpretation, the study of lawsuits derived from public administration omissions, and conflict resolution proceedings related to administrative authorities’ competence.
