Abstract
This paper aims to vindicate, by means of afirmation of the piority both logic and historical of «politics» it self agains the term «democracy», also of the need to preserve political tradition, understood as the activity of dispute resolving and statingo of policies by means of public debate among citizens, because thies is the last hope for the post-cold-war-end's world to face a series of economic, political and social problems, new ideologies and conflicts that threat to destroy civilisation as we know it. The preservation of political action demmands merging thought and action, the recovery of coherent political thought, argumentation, open public especulation reasonable and intelligent not ony in academic spaces but within societies them selves.
