Abstract
La valoración económica de los ecosistemas basada en la estimación de la disponibilidada pagar, generalmente no tiene en cuenta la importancia que los usuarioslocales de recursos le otorgan a los mismos y a los servicios que proveen. En esteestudio, apoyados en el Método de Asignación de Puntajes, se desarrolla una valoraciónparticipativa de unidades socioecológicas del paisaje en el complejo lagunarde la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. La selección de dichas unidades y su valoraciónfueron llevadas a cabo por participantes de cinco comunidades de la región.La valoración participativa permite conocer el valor relativo que las comunidadeslocales otorgan a las diferentes coberturas e identificar diferencias entre comunidades.Se destaca la importancia que todas las comunidades le dan a los cuerpos deagua para obtención de alimento y de agua para consumo, la importancia del espejode agua de la Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta en su papel de identidad cultural ylas diferencias en la valoración de zonas agrícolas. Este estudio también presenta,de manera exploratoria, un análisis de preferencias intertemporales y de tasas dedescuento de las unidades.Ambiente y Desarrollo is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
