Abstract
El propósito del presente artículo es explorar conceptualmente la teoría de la modernización ecológica. Se trata de demostrar que dicha teoría, inicialmente sustentada por autores tales como Joseph Huber y Marteen Jänicke, y con desarrollos conceptuales más complejos a partir de los trabajos de Arthur Mol y Gert Spaargarem, entre otros, puede conducir a una revisión sustancial en la percepción, en la formulación y en la implementación de las políticas ambientales. El artículo concluye con el reconocimiento de los alcances y límites de la modernización ecológica a fin de cumplir tal transformación en las políticas públicas con el objetivo de caminar gradualmente hacia una sociedad más sustentable.Ambiente y Desarrollo is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
