Abstract
En este artículo se analizan las dinámicas de expansión del monocultivo de palma
aceitera para la producción de agrocombustibles en la Hacienda Las Pavas; su
influencia en la soberanía alimentaria local, y las expresiones de resistencia de la
comunidad campesina ante el modelo de desarrollo implementado en la región. Se
analiza de qué modos la siembra extensiva de palma aceitera desarrollada desde la
década del 2000 intensificó e hizo más complejo el conflicto socioambiental existente
en el territorio, lo que trajo como efectos múltiples daños ambientales, transformaciones
del entorno y rupturas del tejido social. El estudio evidencia que los agrocombustibles
ocasionan conflictos socioambientales que menoscaban la soberanía alimentaria de
las comunidades locales, cuya respuesta es organizarse y resistir.
