Abstract
En Santiago del Estero (provincia “extrapampeana” argentina) se incrementó la superficie con explotaciones agropecuarias (EAP) durante el periodo intercensal 1998-2002. Entretanto, los bosques y montes espontáneos (B-ME) disminuyeron. Estos cambios en el uso del suelo impactan sobre el ambiente, implicando modificaciones de servicios ecosistémicos y sistemas socioeconómicos que se extienden más allá de los límites provinciales. Es nuestra hipótesis que la proporción de desmonte varía según el tipo de EAP sojera. El objetivo es analizar las diferencias entre distintos tipos de productores con respecto al desmonte. Se elaboró una tipología de EAP según la proporción de trabajo familiar empleado. La participación relativa de B-ME ha disminuido en todos los tipos, pero las familiares mantuvieron un porcentaje mayor en algunas localizaciones.Ambiente y Desarrollo is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
