Abstract
En este artículo se analizará la novela Los parientes de Ester, de Luis Fayad. El análisis de la forma novelesca permitirá comprender la toma de posición del autor (Bourdieu, 1997), específicamente su evaluación sobre la Modernidad, los procesos de modernización en Colombia durante el Frente Nacional (1958-1974) y su relación con el individuo. De esta manera, se pretende consolidar una nueva interpretación acerca de la obra de Fayad que problematice la forma en la que ha sido estudiada y difundida en Colombia desde el momento de su publicación.
