Abstract
Stanley Kubrick empieza su película 2001. Odisea en el espacio haciendo emerger de la tierra una gran pilastra de metal que hace la primera sombra simétrica del planeta. Son épocas habitadas por el peludo pithecanthropuserectus, que ha descubierto que puede atacar y obtener el dominio del territorio con instrumentos diferentes a sus uñas y colmillos. Con fémur en mano como arma letal, se hace acreedor del agua que hay en la árida zona. De ese momento en adelante, comienza la evolución de la sociedad, la que milenios más tarde, como bien lo ilustra Kubrick, batallaría con elementos un tanto más sofisticados y veloces por el dominio terrestre, no sin antes construir las más complejas civilizaciones luego de innumerables enfrentamientos. Vemos aquí que el cineasta estadounidense plantea un desarrollo social interesante: del nomadismo, al aferramiento a la tierra después de una primera batalla y como consecuencia de ello sale del suelo, como regalo del más allá, la simetría que simboliza el primer paso de la civilización.Cuadernos de Literatura is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
