Abstract

The housing policy in México has been changing in response to the national and international events that Mexico has faced throughout the time. Rather than the structure and the adaptation attempts, the outcomes of those policies are not enough to cover the needs for worthy housing conditions for all and each mexican. Moreover, a change in the government focus has to be added to the housing financing of social interest housing policy that benefits private interests. There is a crisis on the kind of house that the government programs offer. From this framework, using a neighborhood of social interest housing in Monterrey metropolitan zone as case of study, this article analyzes the development of mobility and requirements of the main cities of México about the housing policies of social interest for the housing backlog solving.
