Abstract
Este trabajo reúne algunos aspectos del proceso investigativo desarrollado en torno a la gestión urbana adelantada en la ciudad de Medellín (Colombia) desde el año 2004. En él, desde la perspectiva del Análisis Crítico del Discurso, hacemos un acercamiento a lo que se ha denominado Urbanismo Social, analizando la práctica discursiva oficial que lo acompaña y la realidad material producida en los territorios intervenidos. Con este fin, presentamos asuntos de orden teórico, metodológico y analítico que han orientado el proceso; describimos los principales rasgos del modelo de gestión urbana referido, y algunos resultados en términos de las representaciones sociales producidas por el discurso oficial y sus efectos en las prácticas espaciales de quienes habitan los territorios intervenidos. Finalmente, presentamos algunas consideraciones respecto al papel del urbanismo, la gestión y la planeación del territorio como verdaderos instrumentos que permiten disminuir las disparidades territoriales y la segregación socio-espacial, a partir del caso MedellínThis journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
