Abstract
El desarrollo de las ciudades ha llevado un proceso acelerado durante los últimos años en Latinoamérica la globalización, las nuevas tecnologías y el desarrollo económico y social han cambiado drásticamente la vida diaria generando rezagos y problemas estructurales a nivel social y espacial en la mayoría de las ciudades latinoamericanas. Dichos problemas se asocian directamente a la calidad de vida, a la estructura e infraestructura urbana, al manejo y a la planeación del territorio urbano y rural y básicamente a la marginalidad social.
