Abstract
A questão do uso do solo é recorrente no estudo sobre o desenvolvimento tanto regional como urbano. O Brasil, nesse sentido, apresenta características marcantes, já que, apesar do seu amplo território, a apropriação restrita do espaço se constituiu como forma de dominação econômica e política. Especificamente na produção do espaço urbano essas características se traduziram em uma forte segregação sócio-espacial, comandada a partir da atuação do capital imobiliário e do Estado. Nesse sentido, este trabalho tem como objetivo geral problematizar a segregação a partir da atuação desses agentes, avaliando os programas governamentais de habitação e urbanização, em especial o Programa Minha Casa, Minha Vida – lançado pelo Governo Federal brasileiro em 2009.
