Abstract
En Mendoza, el valle de Uco ha sido elegido por grandes empresarios para la instalación de camposvitivinícolas irrigados con agua subterránea. Avalados por el Estado provincial para luchar contra ladesertificación, el ingreso de estos empresarios modifica las áreas irrigadas tradicionalmente con aguasuperficial. Se analizan las políticas hídricas provinciales, la modificación de la estructura agraria y cómo losproductores locales atraviesan este proceso. Se concluye que ocurre un proceso de enajenación del agua, de latierra y de la producción que, sin embargo, el Estado difunde como el triunfo del hombre frente al avance deldesierto y la escasez hídrica.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
