Abstract
Este documento toma como caso ilustrativo el sistema de protección social que actualmenteopera en el México rural y lo aborda desde una perspectiva teórica de la moralidad. Bajo estaperspectiva se establece que la moralidad de la protección social concierne a los valores morales,las normas y las convenciones que informan a las instituciones sociales, tanto al Estado comoa la sociedad civil, controlando el acceso a la protección social. Desde este enfoque se sostieneque la moralidad influye en la interacción de los actores participantes para definir quién mereceser apoyado/a en caso de que se presente una situación adversa; y cuáles son los derechos yobligaciones de los actores involucradosCuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
