Abstract
El Turismo Sostenible (TS) ha sido propuesto desde los ámbitos internacionales y nacionalescomo una actividad promisoria para los ámbitos rurales desde las dimensiones ambiental,económica y social. No obstante, los enfoques sobre el turismo sostenible, modalidades,características y en particular el papel a cumplir en el Desarrollo Rural Territorial puedenincorporar consideraciones distintas dependiendo de la entidad que lo promueva. La mayoríade las veces al hablarse de TS se hace solo referencia a la dimensión ecológica de las actividadesturísticas, en otras ocasiones se relaciona con la rentabilidad económica, mientras laspropuestas más recientes incluyen consideraciones de índole social, cultural e incluso política.Este artículo explora el enfoque Sistémico-territorial y su relevancia para el análisis de losprocesos de Desarrollo, las transformaciones en el adjetivo sostenible relacionados con el TS,así como también analiza las principales conferencias de la Organización de las NacionesUnidas en los últimos diez años, así como la política colombiana de fomento del Ecoturismo,a la luz de los alcances e implicaciones para alcanzar un Desarrollo Rural Territorial (DRT)Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
