Abstract
Las dinámicas socioculturales en las comunidades indígenas, son cada vez más determinantespara el destino de la Amazonia colombiana. El presente artículo describe sintéticamente elproceso de investigación y los hallazgos más importantes sobre el uso del paisaje en lacomunidad indígena Puinave más poblada del río Inírida (zona de amortiguamiento de laReserva Nacional Natural Puinawai). ¿Cómo manejan y organizan su territorio? y ¿quécambios han afectado el uso de recursos en éste? son algunas de las preguntas que se abordanen la investigación realizada durante septiembre de 2004 a julio de 2005. Se recogióinformación sobre las características físicas del territorio identificando las diferentes actividadestanto productivas como extractivas y los cambios en el uso del territorio a través deltiempo mediante formatos de campo, entrevistas y talleres participativos. El resultado fue lainterpretación ecológica de 10 unidades del paisaje dentro del territorio y la identificación de14 espacios de uso de acuerdo a las actividades y las especies vegetales, de las cuales se conociósus categorías de uso, su distribución en el territorio y la importancia de cada una de ellas parala comunidad.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
