Abstract
Las reformas económicas que se aplican en Colombia como parte del proceso de ajusteal Modelo de Desarrollo y la complejización del problema agrario, se constituyen enelementos que propician la aparición y sostenibilidad de los cultivos ilícitos. A su vez,los cultivos ilícitos en Colombia se articulan en los espacios territoriales, al interior delas sociedades rurales y en sus sistemas de producción generando transformacionesimportantes en sus particularidades sociales y económicas. El documento relaciona elconjunto de efectos generados tanto por las reformas como por los cultivos ilícitos endos regiones de la Amazonia colombiana y hace una lectura de los mismos buscandoidentificar los elementos que configuran una nueva ruralidad y verificar la aplicabilidadde los conceptos de nueva ruralidad sobre la problemática de los cultivos ilícitos enColombia.
