Abstract
Las áreas rurales europeas están experimentando importantes mutaciones de diverso signo en la actualidad.Dada la pluralidad de espacios rurales, una visión del desarrollo rural centrada en las necesidadesespecíficas cada zona requiere la elaboración de programas de Política Económica de DesarrolloRural (PEDR) diferenciados.
La reducción del diagnóstico sobre el medio rural al atraso relativo de larenta per cápita ha conducido a la PEDR a poner gran énfasis en acciones de estímulo del crecimientoeconómico, que se han mostrado ineficaces en muchas ocasiones.
Una forma de profundizar en el conocimientodel mundo rural es identificar las formas de integración sobre las que las sociedades ruralesorganizan sus estrategias de reproducción, es decir, el intercambio, la redistribución y la reciprocidad.Este trabajo propone criterios para una revisión de la PEDR y explora las posibilidades de ampliaciónde sus contenidos más allá de los estímulos al crecimiento.
