Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo se centra en mostrar los orígenes, el desarrollo y los significados de las luchas sociales que la Asociación Campesina del Valle del río Cimitarra (ACVC) ha venido llevando a cabo desde hace más de una década, como ejercicio de organización de la comunidad campesina en el conflicto social y armado colombiano. A partir de la aplicación del método etnográfico se pudo construir una interpretación profunda de las acciones colectivas por medio del acceso a los archivos de la Asociación y de entrevistas en profundidad. Los resultados de la investigación se centran en que esta Asociación representa un ejemplo de construcción de desarrollo local y de transformación de la conflictividad regional por medio de acciones colectivas defensoras de la autonomía comunitaria y de la soberanía alimentaria de las poblaciones del Magdalena Medio. La asociación campesina estudiada se reinventa como colectivo defensor de los derechos humanos, como actor civil y sujeto político con proyectos de región con carácter incluyente y democrático.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
