Abstract
Este trabalho examina as formas de ocupações e fontes de renda de mulheres e homens das famílias dasáreas rurais do estado do Paraná, Brasil, no período de 2001 a 2008, privilegiando a abordagem de gênero.As estimativas mostraram que o número das famílias no período analisado ficou estabilizado, revertendo aqueda que ocorreu na década de 1990. Verificou-se a intensa redução das ocupações agrícolas e o preocupanteprocesso de proletarização, sendo que ambos os fenômenos atingem mais intensamente as mulheres. Aocupação não agrícola foi um importante lócus para as mulheres gerarem renda independentemente doespaço masculino. A renda dos homens oriunda das ocupações agrícolas ainda é a maior responsável pelaformação da renda familiar e as transferências sociais são as maiores fonte de renda das mulheres.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
