Abstract
Desde los años ochenta, la Economía Solidaria ha ganado cada vez más relevancia como alternativa almodelo económico neoliberal, tanto en el ámbito urbano como en el rural. Este artículo busca examinar dequé forma estas alternativas económicas inician e influyen en procesos de empoderamiento de mujeres.A partir de un análisis interseccional, se identifican los principales factores de discriminación en que viveninmersas las mujeres de las favelas. Al sistematizar las experiencias de una Red de Economía Solidaria enBrasil, el artículo desarrolla cuatro hipótesis sobre cómo los procesos de autorganización podrían contribuira formas de empoderamiento en diferentes dimensiones. De ahí se deduce el concepto de “empoderamientoespacial” y se analiza su relevancia para transformar los roles de género en el contexto de mujeres en espaciosurbanos y rurales.Cuadernos de Desarrollo Ruralis registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
