Abstract

he paper aims at suggesting the Latin American insurance academic commu- nity a sort of foundation for a Model Act that uniformly regulates Insurances Broker’s activities in the region, similarly to the project of Insurance Contract Model Act for Latin America conceived by renowned late professor JUAN CARLOS FÉLIX MORANDI. For the above purpose, this paper includes the pertinent norma- tive framework and regulations issued by the National Insurance Superinten- dency of the Argentine Republic. By virtue of the importance and currentness of the topic, the paper makes reference to the insurance broker’s legal duties as regards criminal money laundering. Therefore, it presents the most outstanding similarities and differences among the countries of the region and discloses the thought of professor JUAN CARLOS FÉLIX MORANDI. Finally, the paper reports on matters regarding insurance broker’s civil liability originated in their activity.
