Abstract
El siguiente artículo ha sido desarrollado en la ponencia realizada en las jornadas de Derecho de Seguros de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana en agosto de 2010, exponiendo el discurrir del Derecho de Seguros desde una perspectiva histórica, y de las nuevas tendencias de éste. Haciendo una breve referencia histórica de los antecedentes del seguro apreciando los pronunciados e interesantes vaivenes de los que ha sido objeto. A partir de estos antecedentes y de lo que las distintas legislaciones regulan sobre el tema del seguro en diversos países, se propone en el texto mirar hacia las nuevas tendencias del Derecho de Seguros desde una mirada reflexiva y propositiva.
