Abstract
This article discusses Judgment No. 1217/2025, of September 8, 2025, of the First Section of the First Civil Chamber of the Spanish Supreme Court, which has had a major impact on public opinion by ordering the insurer of an anesthesist to pay €1.2 million to the parents of a baby who was left with a 90 percent disability and permanent neurological sequelae after suffering cardiorespiratory arrest during a cranial MRI scan under sedation.
