Abstract
El presente es un ejercicio epidemiológico que se asemeja a un estudio descriptivo realizado en el Hospital La Misericordia, en Santafé de Bogotá, durante diciembre en 1996 y enero de 1997. Hace referencia a las características de persona, tiempo y lugar de los niños que presentaron quemaduras durante el período señalado. Se obtuvo para el estudio un total de 43 niños, pudiéndose establecer como agentes causales de las quemaduras en primer lugar la gasolina, seguido por líquidos hirvientes. Como factores relacionados se encontraron el hacinamiento, dejar al alcance de los niños agua hirviente.
