Abstract
Stepping aside from the controversy raised by this subject, talking about scientific evidence in nursing care, implies to talk about scientific production in nursing and of its applications in the professional exercise. It is impossible to ignore the contribution that evidence-based practice has done to the contemporary medical research and its growing importance roll in the development and legitimization of medical disciplines. In this paper we make a review of the antecedents of this movement that causes the polarization of the subject in study, the steps to apply the evidence in the professional practice and the challenges that we have in the development of new skills required for the implementations of evidence given by our scientific research production and from the other professionals.
