Abstract
Colombia, like other countries in the world, suffer the impact of chronicity situations not only caused by their healthy systems but also by the experience of the actors: individuals, caregivers and relatives. Therefore it is essential that nurses being to intervene through strategies which enable them to provide committed and effective nursing care. However, what kind of nursing care should be provide in chronic illness situations?, is nursing capable to provide care from the current healthy system? These questions allow to think over nursing position in chronic illness care and how should nursing organize their discipline into the future.
