Abstract

This was a qualitative reasearch developed with 24 worker women in a geriatric institution. The group of women was quite different because of their age, couple relationships and number of children. Nevertheless all shared a common personal and social problematic which they wanted to change. Together with them we planned and made a programm of self development which tried to change the women daily life: it stressed three different problems: gender conception, self comprehension, cultural adaptation and couple relationship. After the program wasw over they became able to express their own sentiments, the group ties became stronger, they began to recognize their possibilities and weaknesses. It was remarcable how their behavior and interaction changed campletely specially toward their children.
