Abstract

This article outlines the historical development of the school of nursing of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana from its creatiion in 1941 as the School of Social Economy and Nursing which belonged to the Feminine Schools of the Javeriana University. Based on the study of the Fondo Facultad de Enfermería (School of Nursing Fund), the historical files of the university and the articles written by the deans about the history of the school of nursing and published on the book titled 65 años de la Facultad de Enfermería Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, this article presents the most outstanding facts during each period as described by each dean.
