Abstract

The friendly settlements at the Inter-American Human Rights Protection System and at other similar international organs of protection on human rights can be considered as a group of measures inside transitional justice process. The author examines the causes of the friendly settlements by Colombia at the Inter-American Human Rights Protection System between 1994 and 1997 and their impact in institutional and legal development, with the achievement of justice right in concrete cases.
