Abstract
This article is centered in the analysis of a “school text” of the Colombian history in the 19th Century. The objectives obey the interest of responding for the specific conditions in which the historical production in Colombia was possible at the end of the 19th Century and the relationship with their teaching. Problems that will be approached in the specific case of the text Newest text of Colombian History (patriot history) of the historian and geographer Javier Vergara y Velasco. As work hypothesis we propose that the historiographical production that is made at the end of the 19th century it gathers some conditions in their forms of understanding the history and production of historical knowledge that indicate us a place of origin of the historical knowledge in the country.The journal Memoria y Sociedad is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
