Abstract
This article shows the process by which the Antioquian elite grew at the XVIII century and the beginning of XIX. This process, acording to the author, controled the destiny of Antioquia from a mining and comercial base. Specifically, this article studies the period between 1775-1810, from the arrival of governor of independence which marked a chance in the social and political structure of New Granada.
