Abstract
The objective of this essay is to establish a comparative analysis, pointing out similarities and differences, between populism and nationalism in the 1930s using, as examples, the government of Lazaro Cárdenas (1936-1940) and the so-called "Revolución en Marcha" in Colombia (1934-1938). Secondly, the essay studies the figures of Pedro Albizu in Puerto Rico and Jorge Eliecer Gaitán in Colombia.
