This essay offers a different vision of what is known up to now concerning Artisan mobilizations at the beginning of the 20th century. In this article, the artisan is a central actor, defined as "worker" a term that replaced the term artisan and that allowed for identification among distinct sectors of workers, including industrial workers. This essay presents the first organizing efforts in bogotá during the period form 1910-1919, and the socialist influences on the artisan sectors, with special reference to the masacre of march 1919.
