Abstract
In this article there are analyzed the urban and architectonic transformations suffered in Bogotá after the celebration of the Centennial of Colombia's Independence in 1910 event that took place in a city that would experience a vast population and urban growth during the 20th century. With this purpose, it is first described the economic and political situation of Colombia entering the mentioned century, it is described the place elected to commemorate the centenary by making an architectonic exhibition and it is explained the architecture the city had at that moment. Further, the various architectonic structures included in the exhibition, their authors, contents, as well as their uses and final destinations are referred. As a final point, a balance is made of the possible urban and architectonic consequences this exhibition has brought to the development of Bogotá during the 20th century.
