Abstract
A propósito del homicidio contra Orlando Sierra Hernández, subdirector y columnista del diario manizaleño La Patria, el autor de este antiobituario, apoyado en a sociología de la comunicación y en los datos obtenidos de su investigación sobre el periodismo local, reflexiona acerca del periodismo como agente y víctima de la violencia. Según su hipótesis - tomada de Pierre Bour-dieu-, el periodismo sufre la opresión que él mismo favorece en la medida en de su incapacidad para detectar, resistir y subvertir los mecanismos ocultos de esa opresión, situación producto de la baja incorporación de capital cultural dentro de un campo peroidístico consecuentemente sometido a las fuerzas externas que sobre él recaen.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
