Abstract
The paper to follow is a semiotic analysis ofRica rdo Lagos' (2000-2006) government interventions on the events that rook place at La Moneda Presidential Palace. Oue semiotic hypothesis asserts that such interventions are semiotic-discursive operations which attempt ro invest with therapeutic meaning the traumatic interventions on the same building perpetrated by the military dictarorship (1973-1990). In this sense, the conviction chat the semiotic operations performed by the democratic government have a healing (therapeutic) imporr vis-a-vis the trauma that General Augusto Pinochet inAicted on Chile, pervades our work.This journal is registered under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License.
