Abstract
Se debe colocar la violencia en el marco de referencia de la dialéctica muerte-vida. Con esta idea se recupera el sentido del Nuevo Testamento, que considera la violencia como un punto de vista escatológico, esto es, relacionada con la suerte definitiva de toda la humanidad, más que con el punto de vista moral-individual. La violencia constituye un freno que no deja avanzar hacia la plenitud de la vida, a la cual se siente llamado el hombre. Ello significa que hasta cuando exista la violencia,
existirá la muerte, y el hombre no será todavía totalmente hombre. En esta afirmación se revela la necesidad de un empeño humano en el esfuerzo por eliminar esta raíz de la muerte que es la violencia. Evidentemente, se trata de un empeño tanto individual como colectivo.
