Abstract
John Henry Newman se acredita como pionero en el empeño por esclarecer los procesos cognitivos humanos implicados en la responsabilidad del teólogo, cuando éste asume la mediación de su fe en el contexto histórico y cultural de una época, en salvaguarda de la autenticidad de su tradición religiosa y de la relevancia de la misma, en la trasformación sociocultural de su medio.
