Abstract

El concepto tiene origen astrológico y hace referencia a la idea según la cual el sol cambia de signo zodiacal más o menos cada 2160 años. La "Era de los peces", iniciada el año primero después de Cristo, debería ceder el paso a la "Era del Acuario". La coincidencia cronológica y la identificación del símbolo astrológico de los peces con el Pez como símbolo cristiano facilitaba la asociación de la edad de los peces con la edad del cristianismo, y de la era del Acuario con la era próxima a comenzar, en la cual aparecerá "algo nuevo" con relación al cristianismo actual. La era del Acuario será la época de un nuevo cristianismo esotérico.
