Abstract
Es un hecho que el número de personas mayores aumenta entre el clero y en nuestras comunidades religiosas. Se trata de un simple caso particular dentro de la tendencia demográfica generalizada en la población; pero además, la pirámide de edades no es la misma en la vida religiosa que en la sociedad en general, debido a la crisis vocacional que hemos venido sufriendo y de la cual sólo recientemente parece que vamos recuperándonos. Los religiosos jóvenes son minoría; las personas mayores y los ancianos van siendo cada día un grupo más numeroso; en algunas diócesis y comunidades y aun países enteros, la gente mayor y los ancianos constituyen la mayoría.
