Abstract
La encíclica Centesimus Annus tiene un aporte especial en lo que se refiere a las claves de interpretación de la doctrina social de la Iglesia. Es de las pocas encíclicas que presenta un corpus elaborado de criterios o claves de autointerpretación.
La Centesimus Annus ha recibido muchas interpretaciones. Algunas de ellas tan graves como la afirmación de que el Papa Juan Pablo 11 favorece abiertamente el capitalismo y que se ha aliado con el poder del capital en contra de los intereses de los pobres.
