Abstract
Como objetivo central de esta presentación hemos querido abordar algunos aspectos que nos parecen relevantes para el ámbito de las ciencias sociales en general, como para la historia en particular, mirada ella como conocimiento y como realidad misma. Ambos aspectos o ideas son, por otra parte, inseparables en la problemática de la existencia del ser histórico. Esta aproximación al Concilio Vaticano TI, en esta perspectiva, nos permite abordar, según creemos, problemas sociales y políticos que adquieren a partir de este momento, nuevas dimensiones. Hay inspiraciones nuevas, sugerencias ricas y variadas, para adentrarse en el complejo entretejido de la historia contemporánea y encontrar caminos nuevos, respuestas a muchos interrogantes.
