Abstract
Me voy a referir al humanismo como actitud fundamental, que consiste en la preocupación y búsqueda del pleno desarrollo humano del hombre, basada en el reconocimiento del valor incondicional de la persona. Parecería redundancia hablar del desarrollo "humano del hombre". ¿No sería mejor decir "desarrollo integral''? Yo creo que las dos expresiones son equivalentes; sin embargo, prefiero hablar de desarrollo humano porque, por su parte, de esa manera se deja entender más claramente la amenaza de un desarrollo deshumanizante y, por otra, que se trata del desarrollo universal, de todos los hombres. Ese humanismo quedó muy bien expresado en el conocido texto de Terencio: "Soy hombre, nada humano me es ajeno".
